Pream Anand, more famously known as DJ Joe Black, born on 4th September 1980 raised in Klang till the age of 13.His passion for music started at the age of 12 when he started listening to music from artist like Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli and etc.during the early growth of the hip hop era and RnB industry in the 90’s, with music as his passion he then learned the skills of disc jockeying from his cousin Glenn George aka DJ Grinz (DO RE Mi), a well known DJ from Klang. While learning how to spin and mix he then mastered using a computer based DJ software called OTS DJ JUKEBOX, he then started by helping his cousin Glenn George aka DJ Grinz to do events, where he made his name by stealing attentions from small events like BONIA-Annual Dinner, GUESS-product launch and GSC(Golden Screen Cinema)-Annual Dinner and turning them into big opportunities.
In 2007 he was then offered his 1st residency at Monti’s Sunway where he stole the attentions of many hearts with his unique music selections from various genres like Desi, Hindi, RnB, Hip Hop, Reggae Ton and etc while stealing music lovers from Borneo Rainforest, Sunway Hotel, Coco Banana, Bar Flames and many others clubs around Sunway. He then became recognized in the entertainment industry and then started to attract people from out of state due to his ultimate music selections.
After a year being with Monti’s, he then grabbed a new opportunity to be the resident DJ at Home and Away Sports Bar in Sri Hartamas where he continued to attract many music lovers from all races and ages around Malaysia. DJ Joe Black not only spins English, Hindi, Desi but also Tamil old and new top numbers where he attracted a multiracial crowd. DJ Joe Black was also the Official DJ and Emcee for Home and Away weekly Barclay’s English Premier League Soccer Events sponsored by Carlsberg. He also Emceed for every Man Utd matches every week in Home and Away for the Man Utd Fans sponsored by Tiger FC and Carlsberg.DJ Joe Black Emceed and was the official DJ for the Songkran Water Splash Party, Bollywood Night, Couples Night Out, for Carlsberg meet the stars (ex Manchester United Player) visit to Home and Away.
He was also invited by Malaysia HHH(Hash House Harriers) Members to Emcee and DJ for their 2008 Full Moon Jungle Party cum Annual Dinner for 1000 pax in Jerantut, Pahang along with guest DJ Danny and they rocked the 25km deep jungle private party for the HHH members spinning all night long by the river side.While spinning, mixing and blending the music, DJ Joe Black was then invited to spin along side with Malaysia’s ever so famous MDJ DEV at Club Aman for a private function.
In 2008 DJ Joe Black continues to share his love for music, while spinning at Titanium Super Dance Club blasting off along with the Resident DJ, DJ HUM.
In 2009 DJ Joe Black has done events for Titanium Super Dance Club such as Retro Night, Afro Night, Ladies Night, Old SKool Night and many other events.
Not contented with the response from the urban market, DJ Joe Black started stepping into the Indian club industries, where he started with; an Open Night event for Tangaval Dance Club located along Jalan Ipoh along side with DJ Vicky aka Puchandy.
As learning is a never ending journey, DJ Joe Black is currently pursuing professional DJ classes with DJ Krates at Mixology Academy under Malaysian Greatest DJ Fuzz from The Bum Squad, as an official Bum Squad DJ based in Los Angeles, USA. This induction comes as recognition to the abilities and contributions of a DJ to the music scene. DJ Fuzz also has a collection of championships under his belt, being the winner for The Vestax Extravaganza, as well as The Pioneer Digital DJ Battle Championships. DJ Fuzz is the only individual to have won the Pioneer Digital DJ Battle 3 years in a row (more recently in 2005), as well as being the first Malaysian DJ to have done so.
